02h00 on the Eastern Front

 Arthur decided that we'd had enough of 02h00 in Italy, so for a change he thought it would be fun to game some partisan action on the Eastern Front!

First up, a few images of the Russian village.  This village has been occupied by the Nazis, and is now a target of a partisan mission to collect vital military intelligence.

The partisan force, led by partisan hero, Zoya, assisted by an NKVD officer (using the card of a Jedburgh liaison officer, representing Red Army support to the partisans).

The Germans have set up a patrol route around the village.  The flags represent locations where intelligence has been hidden.  The 5 flags have values from 0 to 2 points.  The partisans will be successful if they can collect flags with a combined points value of at least 5.  They will need to reach the flag, succeed in a search roll, and then exit the board.

The old babushka and her grandson search the white dacha, and find one point of intelligence.  The partisans used a Plan card that allows them to access all buildings freely (they have the keys!), so they don't need to test to break down doors or smash windows, potentially raising the alarm.

Blissfully unaware of the partisan activity, the Germans patrol the village.

Zoya and the Turk stay in cover, hidden from the German patrols.

Similarly, the NKVD officer with a pair of partisan recruits remain hidden as the German sentry looks the wrong way.

NKVD man and his pair of partisans continue sneaking around behind the German sentry.

Two partisan use an order card to coordinate a silent ambush against the German officer.  It was a near-run thing, but numbers counted, and they took him out!

Things are getting hot!  The straw-hat partisan successful snipes the feldgendarm, clearing the path to searching for more intel.

The gig is up!  NKVD man and his mates are spotted by the dog handler.  A fierce firefight breaks out.

German reinforcements rush on to the table, and engage NKVD man.  He declares, "Not one step back!" and engages the oncoming soldiers.

In a brief exchange of fire by the factory, the German sergeant shoots at Zoya with his MP40 but misses.  She shoots back with her rifle, and takes him out!

At the other end of the village, babushka and her grandson slip away with their valuable intel.

NKVD man goes down.  His last companion tries to flee, but is cut down by the oncoming Germans.

The Germans rush to the far end of the village, but the delaying action has been a success.  

While this gunfight was going on, Zoya, the babushka and her grandson have fled the village.  The Turk and the straw hat man searched the remaining locations, and found more valuable information.  In the end, the partisans escaped the village with 5 points of information at a cost of 3 of their 8 partisans.  A resounding success for the partisans!
